Frequently Asked Questions

Advising help

  • Online advising is available. Students can now visit the email an advisor help line.
  • During registration, Educational Advisors are also available to answer your questions about the suitability of courses you may be considering for your program of studies, program requirements, course prerequisites, and transferability of course to other institutions.

Registration Deposit

  • All students, except International Students, must pay the Registration Deposit every semester (allowing 2-3 business days processing) in order to register at their registration time. International Students must pay all fees prior to registration.

Closed or Full Sections

  • The section you have selected is currently full.

  • A course that is full may become available at a later date during registration. Therefore, be persistent in your attempts to register throughout the entire registration period (which continues into the first and second week of classes). Registration into Spring 2009 courses is available online until January 11 and in person January 12 to 16.
  • Students are advised to click on the Check Seat Availability link provided on the Register Online page before registration opens at 0700. This link allows you to check the availability of seats quickly without having to log into the secure site prior to the registration system opening at 0700. This list is updated four times daily, at 0645, 1145, 1545 and 1945.

Waitlists

  • Kwantlen Polytechnic University does not maintain waitlists for open registration courses. If the course you are seeking is full at the time you attempt to register, please try another section or campus (if offered). You may also try to register again at a later date or time as a seat may become available should a student decide to drop this course.

Delayed Release

  • Seats that have been dropped from a previously full section will not be released until the start of registration on the following day
  • The delayed release of seats on a per day basis is in effect from the beginning of registration each semester until after the Fee Payment Deadline. Beyond this date, dropped seats are released four times a day and students can check the Search for Courses to Add option from 0700 to 2300 to determine the availability of courses.

Viewing fees

  • Once you have registered, select the Registration Fee Assessment option under the Registration Menu to ensure you view an up-to-date balance. Then proceed to the Account Summary by Term option under the Records Menu to determine the full amount of your outstanding balance. See Fees and Payment for payment options.

Not formally registered

  • Students are not permitted to attend classes until they have formally registered for that particular course, section and campus
