Business Corner with Kristan Ash
Kristan Ash, KUAA board member and our resident business guru, offers valuable resources and tips for busy business professionals and entrepreneurs. Want to know the 100 best business books or where some of the biggest companies are doing their headhunting? Whether relaxing at the beach or catching some sun in the backyard, summer is a great time to catch up on your reading. Jack Covert and Todd Sattersten have made it super easy with their book The 100 Best Business Books of All Time
, a compilation of all the best business reads separated by chapter. Easy to navigate, it provides a quick way to find excellent solutions to everyday business challenges. If you happen to be (or are considering) job hunting, check out this interesting article on CNNMoney.com about connecting with potential employers by making the most of your LinkedIn profile. It details the enormous value social networking sites can provide on career and business development.
Something that may be of interest to alumni preparing for their GMAT or other graduate admission tests should check out the free apps at iTunes. They help you prepare for your test anywhere without having to lug around big text books. My favourites are the MGMAT Flashcards, GMAT Club, GMAT Connect and Veritas Prep.
Finally, for female entrepreneurs and women in business, I highly recommend the following websites. I’ve personally found them to be a great resource, offering loads of tips and valuable tips and information.
