Shauna McAuley-Bax

Shauna joins us from Fraser International College and Simon Fraser University. She received her M.A. from Simon Fraser University, and B.A. honours in Business and Economics from the University of Saskatchewan. Her areas of speciality are Economics and Education, Globalization and Economics, and Economics in Development. Her thesis explores the effects of policy reform on child labour in transition countries.

Her areas of teaching include Introductory Economics, Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Managerial Economics, Money and Banking, Economics and Government, Competition Policy, and Environmental Economics and Resource Economics.

In addition to teaching economics at the university level, Shauna has worked in cooperation with sustainability groups developing lesson plans for public schools incorporating economic principles to green living.  Shauna’s passion for teaching began when she organized literacy projects for primary school students.  Currently, Shauna has founded a Book Share Program that allows students to be proactive in economic development.   As an active member of the Project Management Institute and the Association for Professional Economists, Shauna has worked together with private sector professionals on a variety of projects. 

In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and playing squash.
