An excellent, comprehensive Canadian website offering an online interest assessment, information on hundreds of occupations, labour market information, links to Canadian post-secondary institutions and job-search topics. You need a username and password (contact counselling assistants for log in information) to access this website: www.careercruising.com

Service Canada

Industry Training Authority (Trades and Apprenticeships in BC)

BC has a severe labour shortage in the skilled trades, and demand for workers in this area is expected to continue to grow. The ITA oversees the trades apprenticeship system in BC and runs this site, which provides information about different trades and how to get the training you need. www.itabc.ca

Alberta Learning Information Service

Alberta Learning Information Service (ALIS) is designed to help people plan and achieve educational and career success! This site provides important information to help you be an informed consumer when it comes to choosing an educational or training program, such as the percentage of graduates from a program who are working in a field related to their studies and average starting salaries.
