Location: G1205C (Cedar building) Abstract The presentation is based on an investigation of postpartum mental disorder as it is represented in 15 years of case law across five common law jurisdictions, considerations of idealized motherhood, the difficulties of reconciling legal definitions of insanity with mental health understandings of mental illness, and the deferential relation of law to medical expertise.
